Keepin' Odyssey Alive

It seems like it's been months already, but it hasn't even been two weeks since the last Kidsbor episode aired. What perfect timing, too, since my full-time summer position started on June 2. That's certainly been keeping me busy for the last little while. But I haven't forgotten about Odyssey! Since it officially went on hiatus, I've already gone through a couple dozen of the older episodes. Hearing episodes from the 90s really puts into perspective how long the show has been running. Remember the days when Eugene and Katrina weren't married? Or how about the time when the Barclay's still lived in Odyssey? Ah, the nostalgia!

I'm sure there will be ample opportunity to discuss the future of Odyssey, so let's put that on hold for the present. With fifteen months until the next new episode airs, what are some of the things you plan on doing in the meanwhile? If you're like me, you'll go back to some of the old favorites, such as the days of Hal Smith, or you might relive the Blackgaard Saga or Novacom Arc. On the other hand, if you're as much of a fanatic as the people of the ToO, you might endeavor to rank every episode! Either way, I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Thankfully, the folks over at Focus haven't left us completely stranded. During the summer, they'll be airing some of their favorite shows from the past twenty years... including special testimonials on each episode from listeners. There's also the live birthday bash event, where they'll be recording a live episode in Colorado Springs. You can find out more details by clicking here. Plus, there's also the new Official Guide which will hit stores this August!

So... what will you do to keep Odyssey alive?

  1. I shall incessantly beg u people to hold a contest for the top AIO episode ever. And I think I'll listen to all of them in order.

  2. I'm going to be spending lots of money towards buying new episodes of AIO, plus I'll read the Official Guide a couple (hundred) times.

  4. Every summer I used to listen to the AIOs I had in order from start to finish - ever since I was five! Well, I am 16 and I have not done that for like 2 years... the main reason I stopped was that every year my collection got bigger and bigger! I thought for sure that focus on the fam would stop making AIOs - but they did not! =)

So I still do listen to the new episodes and I listen to the old ones when they air online... and every once and a wile I pull out one of the old cassettes and listen to a classic.

So I still do everything I can to "keep Odyssey alive" (like go to fan blogs like this on often) and buy new fan products like the new guide book coming out.... and of corse, telling everyone I know about odyssey though my blog and just by talking to others.

    Later,
    Jordan
